Final Year Internship
This internship was carried out within Safran Helicopter Engine's pre-project group, as part of the EcoPulse project. The objective was to implement a new methodology to take into account a propeller in stationary CFD calculations without having to mesh it. The propeller is therefore considered as a source term disk. The propeller is discretized into a stack of airfoils. On each of them, lift and drag are estimated for several Reynolds and Mach numbers to create an abacus. This method has been integrated into a complex 3D calculation to validate EcoPulse's electric motor cooling.
